COURSE OVERVIEW:
This course focuses on studio activities involving bringing ideas to life utilizing digital photography. Students will acquire skills and knowledge in operation of the digital camera, become familiar with the concepts, history, terminology and application of photography. Students will develop skills in observation, editing, critical thinking, historical and cultural concepts planning and project management. They will develop their computer skills including digital enhancement, manipulation, retouching, composition, and editing of their photographs using professional level software. Students will develop individual and group work projects, learning to work collaboratively in a studio environment. They will participate in field trips, in-class and online work assignments and take responsibility for their creative ideas coming to fruition. Students will create photographic art works that explore a wide range of subject matter, and will develop their aesthetic judgment. And have fun doing it! |
